What is Fishtechy?
Fishtechy is an AI-powered fishing app that allows you to measure the length, girth, and weight of a fish using our innovative Proof Ball.
What is Proof Ball?
The Proof Ball is a hand-held orange ball that is precisely manufactured to be an exact size and is used as a reference point to ensure precise measurements through extrapolation in the Fishtechy app.
How do I measure a fish?
Capture a high-quality photo or video using either the Fishtechy in-app camera (preferred) your phone’s native camera where the fish is directly facing the camera and the Proof Ball is fully visible and directly next to the fish. Click the measure icon in the bottom middle of the screen, where you will be prompted to upload or take a photo video, and Fishtechy’s AI will measure your fish for you!
How do I register the Proof Ball?
In your profile, click on the ball icon under “Edit Profile” and “Add Friends” where you will be prompted to register your ball. If you have a version 2 ball with NFC chip, take off your phone’s case and tap the chip to the back of your phone. If you have a version 1 ball, take a photo of your ball and our team will register it for you.
How does Proof Ball work best?
The Proof Ball works best when it is fully visible in a photo/video with your fish and placed directly next to your catch. Ensure that your fish is fully facing the camera and that all parts of your fish are the same distance from the camera (fish bent or obstructed from view can affect the accuracy of measurements). Fish can be measured on a boat, in the water, held in the air, on a bump board or in other ways so long as these conditions are met.
How do *Contests* work?
Users can either create fishing contests or join public existing contests through the “Contests” icon at the bottom of the screen in the Fishtechy app. Users may create private or public challenges with any fish species, location or time criteria they desire to compete against friends or anglers from their region or around the world. These will appear in the “My Contests” page. Additionally, users can join live public challenges which are shown in the “Live” section of the Contests page.
How does privacy work?
Users can either post their catches privately, visibly to only their friends, or publicly to the Fishtechy community. The location and environmental data of catches is never shown publicly, even when catches are posted publicly.
